World Water Day

World Water Day, observed March 22nd, is a United Nations-designated observance focused on raising awareness of global freshwater access issues and promoting sustainable management of water resources. The day underscores persistent global disparities in water access: despite freshwater covering only a small fraction of the planet's total water supply, and despite significant international progress in past decades, billions of people worldwide still lack access to safely managed drinking water or basic sanitation facilities, a gap the UN's Sustainable Development Goals explicitly target for improvement.
