Workplace research generally supports the underlying premise, with studies on employee engagement consistently finding that genuine, specific recognition, as opposed to vague or infrequent praise, is strongly linked to higher job satisfaction, better retention, and improved overall workplace morale, making structured recognition days a genuinely evidence-informed, if still voluntary and inconsistently adopted, management practice.
